Meet The Newest DJ On The Block
March 2, 2014
Cole Plante may seem like your average 17 year-old high school junior. He loves video games, listening to music and even plays in his school marching band. He also happens be a rock star.
Named one of Vibe Magazine’s “30 DJs to Watch in 2014” he is now touring with Demi Lovato on her highly anticipated “Neon Lights” tour. He describes life on the road as fun and cites travelling all around as one of the biggest perks of being on a national tour.
Plante has been around music and the industry all his life and began to DJ at just 13 years-old. Playing piano, guitar, and trombone has given him an ear for combining eclectic sounds to create energizing beats that make you want to dance. He has played gigs that would make any DJ weep with envy. Though the real highlight of his young career came last summer when he became the youngest DJ to ever perform at Lollapalozza. “It was a dream come true to play with some of my idols,” he said.
As for joining Lovato on tour the call came after their shared record label, Hollywood Records, asked Plante to do an official remix of the tour’s titular song. His job will have him playing the VIP room at each venue before each show, DJing for a portion of the show and then joining Lovato in the show’s finale.
He is currently working on a few singles including a remix of “Let It Go” the Oscar winning song from Frozen and his album. He latest single was released February 18th and is available on iTunes. “If I Fall” with Myon and Shane 54 is a follow up to their #1 Billboard Club Dance “Lie To Me”. “If I Fall” features vocals by Ruby O’Dell.
When he is not performing in clubs he is not old enough to get into or touring with big name acts Plante is still working. He is insistent on completing not only high school but college as well. He is still in a regular high school full time and while on tour he emails his assignments to his teachers.
The down to earth teen feels blessed to have the opportunities he has had in music and looks forward to the future.
