A woman in Oklahoma was grocery shopping when her wallet suddenly goes missing. She approached the suspected thief and offers to pay for his groceries if he returned her wallet…WHAT!

Jessica Eaves is a Christian woman with four children who was shopping at her local grocery store. According to her, she noticed a man walking behind her. She didn’t fully turn around but as she reached a couple of aisle over she realizes her wallet is missing.

Instead of contacting authorities she approached the man who was in a crowded isle and said, “I think you have something of mine” and gave him and ultimatum

“You can either give me my wallet and I’ll forgive you right now, and I’ll even take you to the front and pay for your groceries” she told her thief .If he refused to give her back her wallet she would have no choice but to call the police.

Just think of what went through his mind at that very moment; either receive free groceries and forgiveness or taking a trip in the back of a squad car.

“He reached into his hoodie pocket and gave me my wallet,” she says

“He started crying when we walked up to the front. He said he was sorry about 20 times by the time we went from the pickle aisle to the front. He told me he was desperate”

Not much is reported about the man but due to the description of the situation people can imagine him to be in a financial rut and desperate times call for desperate measures.

She bought the milk, bread, bologna, crackers and cheese and it all cost her twenty-seven dollars

“The last thing he said was, ‘I’ll never forget tonight. I’m broke, I have kids, I’m embarrassed and I’m sorry,'” she recalled

This reaction from her shocks people because when a person is robbed or becomes a victim of some sort of theft usually an initial reaction is anger.

“Some people are critical because I didn’t turn him in, but sometimes all you need is a second chance.”

Makes you wonder what caused this woman to be so kind and generous to someone she doesn’t know and clearly try to take something from her.

“My brother and I lost my dad to suicide when I was seven, and I remember him telling me years ago that no matter what I become in life, to always, always be kind,” She told Yahoo

She did not know the man nor did she need to be sympathetic of his situation but this sporadic act of kindness will probably change this mans life. The act of doing the right thing is forgotten in this day an age and we sometimes forget to give as much as we take.

“It was the Christian thing to do,” she told reporters
