I’m looking for love.

I’m looking for real love, though. That Bobby and Whitney type of love, minus the drugs of course. That Will and Jada love before the entanglement. Love that will stick together through thick and thin. A bond that will last forever, no matter what. It be hard nowadays though. At this point, I might be the problem. I feel like I’m not trying hard enough. That and I just get bored easily. I like to do adventurous and spontaneous things. If a girl isn’t with all that, then I can’t be with her. If a girl can’t hold an intellectual conversation, then I can’t be with her. I feel like nowadays girls don’t really talk about much. I need a conversation with substance, you know? 

Let’s talk about your goals and aspirations. Tell me about that business you want to start. Tell me about that nail salon you’ve always wanted to open up ever since you started practicing on your little brother. Tell me about that hair salon you’ve always wanted to start, ever since your mother brought tears to your eyes every time she would braid your hair. I don’t blame you, I’m tender-headed too, beloved, don’t worry, I get it. Tell me about that studio you’ve wanted to open ever since you were a little girl singing in church on a Sunday morning. Tell me about that restaurant you always wanted to open up ever since you had your grandma’s homemade pie every time you went over to her place. That special pie she would give you for dessert if you behaved that night. Tell me about your heart’s desires. 

You also need to have a good taste in music. I need that. And don’t ask me what type of music I’m into. Let’s go for a car ride and go song-for-song so we can experience that moment together. I’ve been trying to broaden my taste in music lately, so I’ve been adding more to my playlists. Trust me I’ve had women play me some crazy music before so yours probably isn’t that crazy. I like soca, gospel, reggae, lyrical rap, and mumble rap too. I do like diversity, though, so make sure you have that as a part of your playlist. As I said, I’m trying to broaden my playlists, so show me some music I’ve never heard before. 

I’m not too picky about the type of women I like. I definitely like a woman who has morals and values of her own. I like a woman who has a personality to her. I used to only be into looks and that never ended well for me. I would rather have personality over looks any day now. Not only do I want to be able to be there for my girl if she has something going on, but I need that support as well. I feel like being there for you and supporting her in her business or her dream job is the norm nowadays. I feel like having the same thing reciprocated is hard to find. Having a woman who can do the same is like a dream come true. I feel like all men need a woman like that in their lives, who can support them in a way that they can prosper. A woman who can support their man is essential. When a man doesn’t feel his best, and he’s feeling like he is not good enough or not worth it, and his girl comes along to be by his side? That’s it right there. A real woman by your side who can hold you down, I feel like, is a fairytale at this point. 

So like I said, I’m looking for love. I don’t know if my list is unrealistic or if these women are just impossible to find. Regardless of what’s out there, and I’m not changing my standards for anybody. I’m just trusting God and praying that he sends me the right one at this point. I know he has a plan, but now I just sound like a hopeless romantic, so I’ll see y’all later on CJ’s love show.
