The Impact

Casey Akers is a senior at Mercy College. Casey is a captain on the softball team and a member of the Maverick Standing Together group. She is majoring in Media Studies while pursuing a minor in English. She lived in Fort Worth, Texas for 8 years and developed a passion for social justice issues, uplifting others and writing/poetry. When she's not busy with softball, she spends her time reading, painting or working out.

Casey has hopes of writing for the New York Times.

She writes a column called Casey's Corner.
