The Impact

Michael Perrota
Prof. Michael Perrota began teaching at Mercy College in 2005. Previously, he was a full-time reporter for North Jersey Media Group in the sports and news sections. After he began teaching, he worked in the sports department for the Star-Ledger. He has won four New Jersey Press Association Awards, two of which were individual awards -  the Lloyd P. Burns Award for Responsible Journalism (first place) and Best News Reporting Statewide (second place). He possesses a B.A. from Pace University, a M.A. in journalism from Iona and a M.F.A. in professional writing and fiction from Western Connecticut State University.

He likes to swamp himself with writing projects. He is currently finishing a novel while working on a collection of essays.
