Top 10 Places On Earth You Have To Add To Your Bucket List
Ihave been lucky enough to have seen a lot of the world already. I have made trips to Africa and Asia, and I have seen most of Europe. On these trips I always take my photo camera with me so I can capture the people, the views, the food, and even the animals. The next 10 places are places on earth I will never forget about and I think these locations should be definitely added to your bucket list.
10. Paris – France
They call Paris the most romantic city in the world, and I have to agree. The art at the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower, the idyllic neighborhood Montmartre, and the Wall of Love set the tone. Paris is one of my favorite cities in Europe and I never get tired of it. Eating croissants and pain au chocolates with a good cup of coffee just hit differently. A boat tour on the Seine shows you all of Paris and its charm. The Notre-Dame, the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre are main attractions everyone knows about, but you can not miss out on other city jewels like Musée d’Orsay, Le Marais and even the Pere-Lachaise Cemetery. Believe me, Paris is just one of those cities you have to visit at least once in your life.
9. Lisbon – Portugal
Lisbon is the perfect place if you look for history and modernism at the same time. The rattling tramline with its yellow trams are probably the thing Lisbon is mostly famed for. The tram will take you to grand palaces and heritage districts that give you a sense of the ancient history of Lisbon. Bairro Alto is the place to be when it comes to nightlife. By day, you can enjoy the street art in the neighborhood. At night, countless bars host fado performances, the typical Portuguese music genre. The Berardo Collection Museum is the main Modern and Contemporary Art Museum in the country and it offers almost 1000 pieces of visual art. Lisbon is a beautiful city with two different sides and it is worth exploring both of them.
8. Havana – Cuba
With its classic cars, traditional mojitos and colorful colonial buildings, Havana is one of the most exciting places to visit in the Caribbean. A tour with a classic car is definitely a thing one should do when visiting Havana. Famous writer Ernest Hemingway spent a lot of time just outside of Havana and he wrote many novels during his time on Cuba. Many people love to visit the bars he wrote about, like La Bodeguita del Medio and El Floridita. The fact this city has been cut off from the United States for decades, has added attraction to the city. The old colonial buildings literally crumble in front of your eyes and this is just one of the many reasons why Havana should be on your bucket list.
7. Bryce Canyon National Park – Utah – United States
Out of all the national parks in this area, Bryce National Park is probably the most extraordinary one. It is famous for the largest collection of hoodoos, the distinctive rock formations that are basically pillars of stone, in the world. Hiking and camping are very popular in this national park. The red, white, and orange colors create a spectacular scenery from above. Other than that, it is definitely worth it to walk through the canyon and see how the pillars cut through the skies.
6. Crete – Greece
Many people think of Greece as the country with countless little islands and white houses and blue roofs, but it is so much more than that. The food, the beaches, the weather, the culture and the people make it one of the best holiday destinations. Crete is one of the bigger island and it has a lot to offer. You can visit Elafonisi Beach that is famous for its pink sand or walk a 10-mile trail at the bottom of a ravine called the Samaria Gorge. At the end of the day, you can eat tzatziki and chicken souvlaki at one of the thousands traditional ‘tavernas’. Crete creates the perfect balance between adventure and relaxation.
5. Antelope Canyon – Arizona – United States
Antelope Canyon is a so-called slot canyon in Northern Arizona. It was created by periodic rains that carved into the sandstone and millions of year later, this resulted in Antelope Canyon. The Upper Antelope Canyon is the best accessible and it has been a favorite place for many photographers, tourists, and visitors from all over the world. During the day, when the lighting just falls perfectly, it creates magnificent views. With Bryce and Zion National Park only a few hours away, Antelope Canyon is a must see when you are in the area.
4. Vancouver Island – British Columbia – Canada
Vancouver Island has a wild and untamed landscape. It creates a rugged scenery with old-growth forests, mountains with everlasting snow, and windswept beaches. The very small town Telegraph Cove offers countless opportunities for hiking — please try to avoid running into bears — and looking for (killer)whales at see. Many people rent an RV or go camping to experience Vancouver Island to the fullest. This place is just made for many adventures.
3. Tanzania
With many national parks like the Serengeti Valley,Lake Manyara, and the Ngorongoro crater, Tanzania gives the best opportunity to spot the Big Five. Elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos are all over Tanzania and seeing them is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Go on safari with a ranger who knows all about the flora and fauna of this beautiful country and they will show you all the perfect spots to look for these majestic animals.
2. Iceland
Iceland is known of its volcanoes and glaciers, which is a very unexpected combination. The black sand from the volcanoes and the green valleys around them create a magical landscape. And let’s not forget about the stunning waterfalls all over the island; they are everywhere. If you love hiking, Iceland is the perfect place. Other than hiking, horseback riding is another way to explore Iceland. During wintertime, you can even witness the Northern Lights, if you are lucky. While driving alongside the coast, you can see small icebergs in the sea. Glacier hiking and ice caving is definitely more for the dare devils but it is a very cool experience. Iceland’s nature is unique and it is definitely a place that should be on your bucket list.
1. Seychelles
This is paradise on earth. The white beaches, the clear water, the coconut trees, and the giant rocks. Out of more than 115 small
islands, La Digue is definitely the most beautiful one. By bike, which is the only form of transportation on La Digue, people can see the whole island in less than an hour. There is not much else to do than going to the beach everyday and see countless of colorful fishes and even sea turtles while snorkeling during a boat trip at sea. There are two giant tortoises that roam freely around the island and they live their best life. The sunrises and sunsets are absolutely beautiful here and the there is just no way you will ever get bored of the white of the beach, the blue of the water, and the green of all the trees and plants. The Seychelles is the perfect destination to come at peace and realize how beautiful Mother Nature can be.
