During the early 2000s, Disney Channel was one of the most popular channels kids would watch and copying infamous catch phrases such as Zack n Cody whenever they got into trouble to Phineas And Ferb’s theme song. For me, it was That’s So Raven and both her catchphrase and theme song were the best to recite in my living room. That’s So Raven was iconic with Raven looking into the camera whenever she got a vision and saying “Oh Snap” whenever something bad was going to happen or when she heard shocking news there was no in-between.
Here are the top ten moments in That’s So Raven that live rent free in my head.
10. She’s not the only psychic
When Raven met Ben Travis Van Winkle she was excited yet received to know she wasn’t the only one with psychic abilities as the people around her couldn’t relate. The duo shared their experiences before ultimately revealing to each other who they have and haven’t told. Unlike Ben, Raven had Eddie and Chelsea keep her secret.
9. Chubby Hands
Whilst helping her father in his business’s annual cookoff, Raven finds out she’s allergic to mushrooms during the competition. Unbeknownst to her at first, did she notice her swollen hands and then face followed by a swollen body. The episode quickly turns from normal to a catastrophe.
8. Raven enters the sister pageant
Raven’s only sibling was Corey, but she has always wanted to have a little sister to be there for. she takes it upon herself to befriend a mini diva and enemy named Sydney. The duo showed the other sisters how it was done as Raven takes Sydney under wing teaching her how to make her own clothes and pursue her passions.
7. The Black History
This episode touches on topics such as discrimination and racism when Raven, Chelsea, and Eddie expose a racist store manager, who refused to hire Raven due to her being black.
6. Fashion Show Drama
That’s So Raven was ahead of its time in dealing with real-world problems such as discrimination against a person of color. Raven’s many passions and talents were fashion as she looked forward to walking in a fashion show for a brand she wanted to work with for as long as she could remember. In this episode, the show teaches young viewers that everybody is beautiful and should be treated equally no matter what their appearance looks like and who they are people deserve to feel beautiful in their own skin.
5. Donna Cabonna
Raven being Raven managed to crash the infamous fashion designer show before being offered an internship work alongside her. This episode is the epitome of making and working towards your dreams coming true.
4. Boys! We Are The Boyz In Motion
Most girls fangirl over boybands and Raven was no different. Boyz In Motion being in more than one episode on the show was a blessing in disguise, as the producers could have kept them in one and kept it pushing. If that were the case, we would have never gotten the episode where Eddie, Chelsea, and Raven told everyone they got the boy group to perform at their school when they were staying at Raven’s house due to their tour bus breaking down. To get out of this lie the friends had no choice but to dress up as them as Raven didn’t want to ask the group to perform. In the end, the boys surprised the friends and their school by showing up to perform as they thought it was the least they could do, as Raven offered her hospitality towards them.
3. Raven And Devon
Devon is the reason why my expectations are so high. He brought a concert to Raven after a science project went wrong that resulted in Raven, her dads, and Devon’s faces to turn blue. He stood outside Raven’s window holding up his radio just so she could have her own personal concert without being seen due to her being blue.
2. Raven’s Royal Wedding
Raven accepted what she didn’t know would be a proposal from a boy named Tendaji who happened to be the prince of Shakobi (a fictional African country) and was looking for a wife. His proposal consisted of a feather after inviting him to her house where she was then confusedly gifted a seashell.
1.Raven’s Prom Night
Every girl dreams of having a prom night straight out of a movie as that would be one of the nights she’ll remember from high school. Everything that could have gone bad did, but she and Chelsea managed to make the most of it even if the night didn’t go according to plan.
