Story Synopsis –

Mackenzie and her two-half sisters, April and Skylar (share the same mother but different father), are extremely jealous of Mackenzie because she is engaged and very soon will be married to a wonderful guy name Jake. The three sisters are all invited to a huge fancy royal party and when Mackenzie is leaving she forgets her purse that was hanging in the coat closet. Her half sister, April, finds the purse and tells Skylar that Mackenzie left it behind. When they get home they do not tell Mackenzie that they found her purse so Mackenzie is very upset that she has lost it. April and Skylar, who Mackenzie did not know where invited to the party arrive when the night is almost over, both go into Mackenzie’s purse to find her wallet and take out Mackenzie’s credit card and uses it at the bank to wipe Mackenzie clean of all her money. Even though April and Skylar are already rich the reason for stealing all of Mackenzie’s money is pure jealousy that she is engaged and is getting married soon and they still are single with no guys that like them. Their mother, Jezebel, is also in on the drama to steal Mackenzie money because her mother is upset that she is going against her wishes and is not marrying a prince. As a result Jezebel turns into a fire-breathing dragon to teacher Mackenzie a lesson along with helping her two daughters, April and Skylar steal all her money that is in her bank account. Marrying Jake means that Mackenzie will no longer be a princess and now with none of her princess money in her account she will be broke and will not be able to afford the wedding. Her mother, Jezebel, will not give her any money for the wedding since she is on the side of her two daughters and is disappointed in Mackenzie for who she is deciding to marry.

(Mackenzie is at the fancy royal party and has to leave because important people who could get her in trouble are watching her since she brought her fiancé, Jake who is not royal to the party. Jake was dressed in royal clothing, that belonged to her father, to fool people into thinking that he was from a royal family.)

Mackenzie –

How are you enjoying yourself Jake? Isn’t this a very lovely party? You look so handsome in your outfit. Everything about this night has been perfect but we better start to make our way out of here because I need to get home before my mother gets back from her dinner conference with the town commissioner. They are trying to establish new laws for our kingdom that will go into effect next month.

Jake –

This night was amazing because everyday spent with you Mackenzie is very special and I cannot wait soon to be able to call you my wife. It will be wonderful to spend our lives together. Are you sure that we have to leave so soon? Was it really 11 pm that your mother would be home from her dinner or was it 12:30 am?

Mackenzie –

You are the sweetest and I cannot wait until we are married as well. There is no one that has ever made me feel this way about myself like you have. It does not even matter that I am giving up my role as princess because being able to call myself your husband means so much more to me.

Jake –

Should we go grab our coats? Wait, those two girls over their look awfully familiar. Where do I know them? Have you seen them before Mackenzie?

Mackenzie –

Oh my goodness. Those are my two half sisters April and Skylar and you have seen them in photos I have shown you.

Jake –

Do they not know that you are here? Is something wrong Mackenzie? Should we get out of here?

(Jake says this in a nervous tone from the look that Mackenzie is giving him.)

Mackenzie –

Yes, something is wrong and we need to leave now because if my sisters see me here they will tell mother for sure that they saw me here with you, who is only pretending to be from a royal family, and I will be punished or worse killed.

Jake –

You did not tell your family about me darling? You are keeping me a secret, what is going on?

Mackenzie –

That is right. My family cannot know about you until after we are married because then it will be to late for them to do anything about it but if they find out now you will never see me again. Once two people are married in my kingdom they cannot get a divorce because my kingdom does not condone divorces.

Jake –

I think your sisters see you too because they are coming this way. What are you going to say to them?

(Jake is always asking a lot of questions of Mackenzie because Mackenzie knows how to socialize in their kingdom.)

April –

(Mackenzie’s two sister walk past her. April speaks in a snippy tone.)

Well, look whom it is we see here. It is our sister and she has brought a young fellow with her. Hello Mackenzie, who invited you?

Mackenzie –

I was invited because I am very well liked by all the people of our kingdom because of all the charity work that I do. What could be the reason that you were invited because I know for sure it is not because you two are well liked.

April –

Skylar and me were invited because they know that whenever we are around the party comes to life. We are known to be the two girls who get the party going. We were just about to get some drinks and go talk to those adorable young guys at the bar. Wait, would you like to join us.

(April was only asking Mackenzie to join her because she knew that Mackenzie would make a fool of herself and those guys would not have any interest in her.)

Skylar –

Oh how rude of us, we did not introduce ourselves to your fellow? He is very handsome, good for you Mackenzie.

(Both sisters really do not care about Mackenzie and Jake but they are putting on an act.)

Mackenzie –

This is Jake. We just met tonight and started getting to know each other.

(That was a total lie but she could not tell her sisters the truth because they could use what she tells them against her.)

He lives in the next kingdom, which is beyond the mountains and that is why our family does not know about him.

(Mackenzie told her sister that so they would not try to figure out why they have not seen him before if he was really from a royal family.)

Skylar –

Is that so Jake, so you are new to our neck of the woods. How did you get here?

Jake –

(Talking in a shy manner not to say anything to upset Mackenzie.)

Well, getting here was a little bit of a hike but it was worth it to see my love. Actually, I rode my horse here tonight.

Skylar –

Mackenzie looks like you found quite a catch here, lucky you!

(Skylar and April start laughing under their breath.)

Mackenzie –

Well, Jake and me were about to be leaving. We got here quite early so I will see you back at home.

April –

Come on Mackenzie what is the big hurry? It seems like you are in a hurry because you have something to hide.

Mackenzie –

No, everything is fine I just want to get home before mother does from her dinner because I she does not know that I was invited to this party because she thinks that I am a “goody” girl that just likes to stay home and study her college material but I can be like the two of you and party as well.

(Mackenzie fabricated that part of the story up to make her leaving early seem legitimate and so that she could fit with her half sisters if she pretended to be more like them.

April –

Mackenzie, mother is not coming home until 12:30 am and so that means that you have at least a whole additional hour longer to stay here at the party.

Mackenzie –

Alright, I will stay for a little while longer but not the full hour because Jake and I have been at this party since 6:00pm

Skylar and April –

(They both say this together.)

Excellent!

Jake –

(A slow song comes on and Jake and Mackenzie slow dance together.)

Mackenzie this is a wonderful song, lets dance.

(While Jake and Mackenzie are dancing the two sister head to the coat room where they know Mackenzie’s jacket is hanging.)

April-

Lets go to the coatroom and see if we can find Mackenzie’s keys so she will not be able to get inside the house tonight because that will surely ruin her night.

Skylar –

Great idea, sounds like a plan. Mackenzie will leave the party get all the way home and have no way of getting into the house because she will most likely not look for her keys until she gets to the front door of our house since Jake rode his horse here and he is giving her a ride home on it.

(April and Skylar start walking to the coatroom and start ripping though all the hundreds of coats that are hanging up to find Mackenzie’s and see if her keys are in her jacket pocket.)

April –

Did you find her coat yet? Mackenzie is most likely wearing her purple jacket to match her hideous purple dress that she is wearing tonight. Never mind, I see something purple sticking out among the jackets in the far corner and that looks like hers.

Skylar –

You found it! That is the ugly purple jacket that she likes to wear. See if her keys are in the pockets.

Skylar –

Well, the keys are not in the lower two pockets.

April  –

You need to check thoroughly all the pockets on her entire jacket. Nevermind, just move over and let me check for myself.

Skylar –

Her pockets have nothing in them expect her makeup. I do not see why she would need to carry around her makeup because she does not need to apply anymore on because she already has way too much on as it is and is she really trying to look even more like a clown.

(Skylar and April are very vicious when it comes to talking about Mackenzie.)

April –

On the hanger behind her coat I see her matching purple pocketbook. Maybe her keys are in there or maybe even better her wallet is in there along with her credit card.

Skylar –

Perfect! Open up her pocketbook and see what she has brought with her tonight. Look to see if her wallet is in there.

April –

Yep, her wallet is in there with her banks card.

(A princess does not carry around cash just her band card.)

That is good just take bank card and leave the wallet inside her pocketbook so she does not suspect right away that something is missing.

Skylar –

Don’t forget to pull her keys out of her pocketbook as well.

April –

I think I hear someone knocking at the coatroom door. Lets get out of here so Mackenzie does not catch us because she kept saying that she wanted to leave and that is probably her knocking.

Skylar –

There is another door at the other end of the coatroom that we can leave from.

(Mackenzie was at the first door just like the two girls suspected and Mackenzie opens the coatroom door quickly and grabs her coat and purse and with Jake leaves the party.)

Jake –

Get on my horse and I will take you home. Hold on tight we are in for a fast ride.

(Since Mackenzie stayed at the party a half hour later and the ride home takes a half hour she is hoping to make it home before her mother does because Mackenzie does not want her mother to see Jake.)

I do not think you made it home in time because I can see your mother pulling into your driveway now.

Mackenzie –

You need to pull your horse into the backyard and let me out there and lift me into the back window so no one can see me coming inside.

(The window is only even feet off the ground, which does not make it hard for her to climb into if she is standing on the horse for a boost.)

Jake –

Good night my love. I will see you in a couple of days.

(Mackenzie and Jake take a pause for a kiss and then off Jake rides back to his kingdom.)

Jezebel –

Where have you been young lady? Is there a reason why you are wearing your best purple dress?

Mackenzie –

Excuse me, oh this dress. I was just trying it on to see if it still fit me because if not I was going to give it away to charity.

Jezebel –

Did I just see a young man leave from the backyard on a horse? Wow, I must be seeing things. Take off that dress so you do not ruin it and hopefully your sisters will be home soon.

Mackenzie –

Yeah, that is right, they were invited to that fancy ball. Too bad I could not have gone but I was too busy here at home studying and finishing up a huge report.

Jezebel –

You are such an excellent student who is always trying to get ahead on her studies.

(It is now after 1 am and April and Skylar have arrived home.)

April –  

It looks like everyone is still awake at home.

Skylar – 

Mom, we had such a great time tonight.

(Talking loudly in an excited tone.)

Jezebel –

Lower your voice, your father is sleeping.

April –

Why is Mackenzie wearing her fancy purple dress?

(April said acting surprised like she did not already know the answer.)

Skylar –

April, do not act like you do not know where Mackenzie was tonight.

Jezebel –

Girls, do you know something?

Skylar –

Yes we do. Mackenzie was out with a young man tonight.

Jezebel –

Now, Mackenzie that young man who was in our backyard on his horse really was here to drop you home. How dare you lie to be after I was complementing you for staying home and working on your studies. I was so proud of you for being my first daughter to go to college.

April –

Mom, aren’t you proud of us too for the things we have accomplished?

Jezebel –

Well, you two girls never did go to college. Anyway, who was that young man by any chance?

Mackenzie –

April keep your mouth shut and you to Skylar. Please do not say anything.

April –

For one thing, Mackenzie said that he lives over the mountains and in the other kingdom but there aren’t any princes that live in that kingdom and that kingdom is where the poor people work on the farm and make the food that is sent over here to us wealthy people.

Mackenzie –

You have no proof of anything April. My man was all dressed up in royal clothing tonight when you saw him.

Jezebel –

Wait a minute you mean that Mackenzie was at the party extravaganza?

Skylar –

That is exactly right mother.

Mackenzie –

Why don’t you shut your mouth big mouth Skylar.

Jezebel –

If this “so-called” man of yours is not from a royal family then why was he wearing royal clothing.

Skylar –

Mackenzie must have borrowed something from fathers closet and gave it to Jake to wear.

Jezebel –

So that is the young man’s name, his name is Jake.

(Jezebel is really angry and locks Mackenzie in the basement for as long as she feels like keeping her in there.)

April –

Mother, is that the only punishment you have in store for Mackenzie.

Jezebel –

Why do you have anything better as a punishment?

April –

Actually yes I do but mother please do not be made at us for doing this, okay?

Jezebel –

April and Skylar whatever it is that you did I do not care because we need to stop Mackenzie from ever seeing that Jake boy again because not marrying a royal is the worst thing that a princess could possibly every do and that will cause her to be excommunicated from the family.

Skylar –

At the party we went into the coatroom and found Mackenzie’s purse.

Jezebel –

Yes, Skylar go on and tell mother the rest.

Skylar –

We just wanted to play a prank on her and so we were looking to steal her keys so that she would not be able to get inside the house and you would catch her and see that she is not the sweet, responsible girl that you always think she is.

April –

(April chimes in and finishes the rest of the story.)

But we did not know Mackenzie probably would think of another way to let herself into the house like she did tonight. Anyway, we left her coat and purse in the coatroom at the party but stole her keys.

Jezebel –

Well, she is home now so what is he big deal that you stole her keys.

Skylar –

Are you going to tell mother the rest of the information to that story?

Jezebel –

April, let me see your pocketbook because you are clenching it very tight like you are hiding something.

April –

No mother, I just have my basic stuff in there that I always carry around.

Jezebel –

(Jezebel grabs April pocketbook from her hands and starts pulling everything out of it.)

What is this I see? Did you two girls steal Mackenzie’s bankcard? You girls are quite evil. What were you two girls planning on doing with her card?

Skylar –

We were going to wipe her bankcard clean but mother now that you know would you like to help us?

Jezebel –

Well, Mackenzie really blew it this time. She lied to me about where she was tonight and worst of all is dating a peasant behind my back.

Skylar –

Mother, if you did not see Mackenzie was engagement ring and is planning to marry him.

Jezebel –

She must of put that ring on tonight to show off at the party in front of people who would not figure out that he is really a royalty. This is it, girls, we are going to continue on with your plan. I am going to help you wipe her bank account clean so that she cannot through herself a wedding and live out the rest of her lives as a peasant as well. Her life is over, as she knew it but her life would have been over anyway after she married that peasant, Jake, because how did she think her own family was not going to find out about it.

(Jezebel face gets really angry and her body starts to change and her powers come out and she transforms into a dragon. Jezebel has turned into a dragon several times before but only to do harm on another families and never her own.)

April –

Go breath your fire on Mackenzie she deserves it.

(Jezebel and the two girls unlock Mackenzie from the basement and Jezebel as a dragon breathes her fire down the steps and in Mackenzie’s direction. The fire causes Mackenzie to be brunt extremely badly.)

Jezebel –

Now the girl that I thought was my favorite daughter will never be able to marry Jake.

(Smoke spills from the house and Jake sees the smoke from where he lives beyond the mountains because the smoke was very intense.)

Mackenzie –

Is that Jake’s voice I hear?

(Jake quickly gets on his horse and rushes over to Mackenzie house to see what is going on and why suddenly her house has smoke coming from it. Jake is shocked and scared to see that her mother, Jezebel, has turned into a dragon. Jake is not usually brave but he will do anything for his lovely Mackenzie and jumps through the flams to save her.)

Jake –

Please do not be scared my love. I am here to help save you from your mother who does not want us to be together.

(Jake becomes the hero and Mackenzie is alive only with a few burns in several places on her body.)

April –

(April says this to Skylar in a revengeful tone.)

Now she will never know that we stole her bankcard.

Mackenzie –

One second Jake if we are going to be together I need to get my purse with my bankcard so we do not have to live as poor people after we get married. My purse is in the other room upstairs. You need to help me into the same window that you helped me into earlier so that I can get my purse.

(Mackenzie climbs into the window grabs her purse and the two of them are off riding his horse into the next morning’s sunset to live happily every after together. Her burns from the fire cause Mackenzie excruciating pain and take a while to heal but they eventually clear up)

Jake –

We do not have to hide out love anymore. I love you Mackenzie and this is the start of our new lives together. We are forever together from this day on.

Mackenzie –

You have made me the happiest girl alive. Jake even though you are not a prince you will forever be my prince.

Narrator –

(Says in a supernatural tone showing readers that there is a price to being with the one you love.)

Little do they both know that there is no credit card in Mackenzie’s pocketbook and they will not have any money for the wedding or any money to live on after her two half sisters and her mother steal all of the money out of her account. I guess that is the price for falling in love with a guy who is not from a royal family.
