Drinking Is Fun When You Have Games To Play

Everyone is familiar with all the drinking games you are supposed to be playing in college, or out of college depending on how much you enjoy drinking. Beer pong, Flip cup, Kings, Power hour, Up the River Down the River, and Quarters, just to name a few.

As of late, there have been a lot of recent developments in the world of drinking games. Mainly dealing with television shows, or movies. As a fan of drinking, games, and movies and television, this thrilled me to no end. I recently came across one that was designated towards fans of The Walking Dead, and one created for those who enjoy American Horror Story. While these games allow for you to choose your own poison, some are better with just beer, and others are meant for you to shamelessly enjoy drinking mixed drinks. Hopefully no one is dumb enough to try these drinking straight tequila, which will result in your hospitalization.

Here I will discuss just a few television show drinking games you may enjoy. Please drink responsibly.

American Horror Story Drinking Game.

You take one drink every time:

  • There is a flashback
  • Someone smokes a cigarette
  • Someone says “Witch” or “Bitch”
  • Someone starts a fire
  • Fish eye lens
  • Nan reads someone’s mind

You take two drinks every time:

  • Fiona drinks
  • Someone dies

While I may be embracing drinking in this post, remember, do not drink and drive.

The Walking Dead Drinking Game.

This drinking game is survival of the fittest. In the spirit of Walking Dead, you are attempting to survive the zombie apocalypse along with those on the show who are fighting for their lives. Except you’re not fighting of zombies, you’re just trying to survive the one hour episode.

There are a few supplies you will need to begin this game. Whiskey, or anything worthy of a zombie apocalypse that will prepare you for the fight. Cheap beer, for those of us who are on team Daryl or, R.I.P Merle. And mixers for those of you who would rather chase than be chased.

Let the games begin.

Rule one. First zombie in the episode, you take a sip.

Rule two. If Daryl aims his crossbow take two sips.

Rule three. If Carl man’s up, take a shot of whiskey.

Rule four. If Rick says, “I need you”, cheers the person next to you and take a sip.

Rule five. If anyone kills a zombie with anything other than a gun, take a sip because it’s badass.

Rule six. Any time the governor makes you feel uncomfortable, take a shot.

Rule seven. If anyone mentions baby Judith, take a sip of juice. Be respectful of her being a baby.

Rule eight. If anyone, or all of the cast, is trapped by a swarm of zombies in a small space, chug your beer, or take a shot.

Rule nine. Any time Rick cries, laugh, cheers with your friends, take a drink, and remember you would never be that big of a baby.

While I have only covered two television show drinking games, there are many out there, and all you have to do is find your favorite show. Because chances are there is a drinking game that goes along with it, or if you’re feeling spontaneous, you can easily make one up yourself.

When it comes to movies, the only appropriate drinking game movie at this time would be The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games has a lot of action, and a lot of wildly dressed people. Which is the appropriate proportion of serious, yet goofy, for drinking games.

Everyone get your best Effie Trinket costume on, and prepare to drink like Haymitch. And may the odds be ever in your favor.

The Hunger Games Drinking Game.

Take a drink when:

  • Katniss shoots an arrow
  • The movie diverges from the book (granted, you actually read the book.)
  • The mockingjay pin appears
  • Someone makes the three finger salute
  • Effies outfit changes
  • Haymitch takes a drink
  • The gamemakers make an announcement

Take a shot when:

  • Buttercup appears
  • Peeta is holding bread
  • Katniss shoots the apple
  • The games begin
  • Katniss and Peeta kiss

Pour one out:

  • For Rue

Enjoy safely, and responsibly with your friends or family members. And create your own games if you are feeling devilish enough. These games must be carefully played, and you must not ever drink too much, and I am definitely not condoning underage drinking. So please drink responsibly, so I don’t get in trouble for this.
