Music Helps Me Get Through Everything

November 8, 2015
From the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep, I walk around singing and listening to music. Music helps me get through my day. Without it I don’t know where I would be. Music just does something for me. I’ve had a love for music since I was 3 years old. That was when I first started singing and from then I was hooked. It’s like when I listen to music I’m in another place. With certain songs you can feel the lyrics.
Music has gotten me through some of my worst times. Whenever I’m going through something, I listen to music. When I don’t want to be bothered I put headphones in to listen to my favorite songs. They tend to help me get into a better state of mind. When I’m feeling sad, I listen to music that is upbeat so that I can feel better. When I am upset, I listen to music that will calm me. I think my love for music came about even more because it was what my grandmother helped me work towards. As I got older my love for it grew.
I can’t go a day without listening to music. I find myself singing a lot more and once I start singing a song I have to play it. Its like once I like the song I strive to learn the words. I keep the song on repeat and go to sleep listening to it. Once I wake up I now know the lyrics.
I don’t think my love for music would be this strong if it wasn’t for my grandmother. She would make me sing every song I knew whenever it came on the radio. From that point on I would get the urge to sing out whenever I like a song. Music has truly become a big part of my life. I took it as far as writing my own songs. That’s another thing I found to be a stress reliever besides listening to music. Music has really become my everyday go to no matter what the situation is.
