Seeking Resumes for Mercy College’s Special Events Internship
Overview: Event Planning Internships offer an experience which entails a variety of responsibilities and organizational skills. These responsibilities include supporting all facets of planning events such as parties, ceremonies, competitions, or conventions. The experience that you’ll gain from an Event Planning Internship can be as varied as the events themselves. Mercy College’s Special Events interns will work on events like: Commencement, special programs and projects, fundraising events, concerts, conferences, film projects, lectures, etc. This is an UNPAID position at our Dobbs Ferry Campus, it requires an in-office commitment of 2 hours per week, on Mon-Fri between the hours of 9pm-5pm and flexibility to volunteer time at evening and/or weekend events and special occasions as needed.
Responsibilities: The intern will assist with event logistics, working with other volunteers, on- site event support, materials distribution, entertainment and supply procurement, database maintenance, special projects, secure in-kind donations, administrative tasks and more.
Qualifications: Interns must be currently enrolled Mercy College undergraduate or graduate college students in good academic standing. Ideal candidates should be: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the intern must have strong customer service skills, organizational skills, show initiative and have the ability to work independently. Graphic Design, social media promotion and web savvy skills are a plus.
