My Top 10 The 1975 Songs
For those that know me very well, know that my favorite band is The 1975. The 1975 is a band from Manchester, England who are well-known for their second album, I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It. With the band selling out Madison Square Garden on June 1st, 2017, here are my top 10 songs:
10. Head.Cars.Bending
This song had a great beat to it where you cannot help but bump your head along to the song.
9. Pressure
This song is a depressing one. My favorite lyrics are:
There’s a change in pressure
We’re never gonna lie to you
Change in pressure
My broken veins say that if my heart stops beating
“We’ll bleed the same way”
Change in pressure
My broken veins say
8. Menswear
The setting for this song is obviously at a wedding. This is supposed to be the band’s “happy” song.
7. She Way Out
My favorite lines from this song is:
She said It’s not about your body
It’s just social implications are brought upon by this party that we’re sitting in
And I’d like to say you’ve changed but you’re always the same
I’ve got a feeling that the marijuana’s rotting your brain
6. The Sound
This is one of their last songs that the band performs live and its the most interactive one yet. There is a part of the song where the band makes the whole crowd jump up and down. You can’t help but stop recording on your phone just to join in with the action.
5. Loving Someone
This song is about having equality and loving each other no matter what your sexual orientation is. The band directly targeted Donald Trump with this song with his latest objection to people that are a different race and/or gender.
4. I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It
I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, is an instrumental song which allows me to focus on whatever is that I am working on.
3. A Change of Heart
This song is on my top five because the band recycles lyrics from my ultimate favorite song by them, Robbers. The lyrics are: “You used to have a face straight out of a magazine.”
2. Somebody Else
Just like every other The 1975 song, this song is catchy. My favorite part of the song is:
Get someone you love?
Get someone you need?
F**k that, get money
I can’t give you my soul ’cause we’re never alone
Get someone you love?
Get someone you need?
F**k that, get money
I can’t give you my soul ’cause we’re never alone
Get someone you love?
Get someone you need?
F**k that, get money
I can’t give you my soul ’cause we’re never alone
Get someone you love?
Get someone you need?
F**k that, get money
I can’t give you my soul ’cause we’re never alone
If this does not get you up and start dancing then I don’t know what does.
- Robbers
This is my ultimate favorite The 1975 song. Robbers is that song that allows me to zone out, close my eyes, and have a great time. This is probably my favorite song to be preformed live also. My favorite lines from this song is: “When she gets his gun he’s begging, babe stay, stay, stay, stay, stay.”
