Congratulations To Mercy College From The White House: Recognized As A National Leader In Community Service In Higher Education

Mercy College and its students, faculty and staff have been recognized by the White House as one of the nation’s leading higher education institutions for our commitment to community service and named to the 2013 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll by the Corporation for National and Community Service.

The Honor Roll recognizes higher education institutions that reflect the values of exemplary community service and achieve meaningful outcomes in their communities.  Mercy’s selection to the Honor Roll is recognition from the highest levels of the federal government of our commitment to service and civic engagement on our campus and in the nation. See the full list of honorees here.

Every year, Mercy College community members participate in service events through Mercy Gives Back and other initiatives.  In 2012, 3.1 million college students dedicated more than 118 million hours of service across the country — a contribution valued at $2.5 billion.
