A Democratic Choice To Be Considered By The Middle East
What’s next? If there is any justification that North Africa-Southwest Asia (the Middle East) is a region for political and religious conflicts to occur, few regions of the earth exhibit a greater cultural variety and complexity. Due to the strategic location between Europe, Africa, and the Asia, this region is the target for cultural and political survival. Since earliest times this particular region has served as a route for people, trade, armies, and more. The region is the birthplace of three major world religions: Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. This has conflict because sometimes the different religions will consider the same places as holy and then fight over them. This is especially true of Jerusalem in Israel. Considering the amount of contribution that this region has offer to the human history, in order to implement changes we have to acknowledge and analyze the territory we are dealing with for a best optional technique. We know in principle what needs to be done to lay the foundations of deep democracy. North-Africa-Southwest Asia region needs to implement the rule of law, administered by honest police forces and independent judges. They need national and local government to be efficient and transparent. They need freedom of speech. Above all, prosperity and unity is lacking in order to perform a democratic reform.
Several countries, like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, are absolute monarchies. An absolute monarchy is a government that has a hereditary ruler which means power passes down through the family. However Turkey and Israel have democratic government which is why the USA should keep building relationship with them in order to eradicate terrorism and make a change to the rest of the countries in this region. These countries have some very cruel rules about how to live and severe punishments for people who try to change things. For example, women in Saudi Arabia are not allowed to drive and can get into big trouble if they try to do so. Therefore to introduce democracy into the lives of this people will be a bit of a challenge because it will be a new thing for them to adapt but certainly much more beneficial for the population. Countries must work and trade their way to prosperity. The arab world has a wide spread desire for change, that change is not necessarily a change that involves democracy as western people will interpreted but it is change that involves: dignity, social justice, freedom, rights regulation and gender equality.
The monarchy needs to fall because there is a major different of authority and large group of people are experimenting the cruelty and the different levels of society manipulated by the government of their native lands. Democracy will be maybe not the solution but it will be a good choice of government to acquire for these people facing human rights’ struggles. This will guarantee at least more social stability, economic growth and liberty among human beings. By creating a change there is the risk of increasing hates and strong believes about a specific pattern of how to view life. The United States will be in risk for those who disagree with the new political system on this particular region and this thing will not go away but we shouldn’t forget how bloody was in the pass to get things fixed. Maybe the world will face another war? probably but if is for a better outcome and for the improvement of thing and human rights then is worth it.
Despite the persecution and violence among religious and political groups, at least the arab population has manifest their disagreement and rebellious act had taken place. Although years before we were unaware of most of the terrible things facing this region, now due to the mass movement on social media such as Facebook, twitter and others we are more aware and less ignorant about problematics around the world. the impact of social media on the people in this region is really powerful. For example, the USA and Iraq, this was all over the place and more and more people where able to see it and they were able to see both sides of the stories and then come up with their own points of views. Many people had been cut off from the world by the dictatorships that practice censorship of the media. Now, people of this region are being exposed to life styles in the “new world.” The region is being affected because now everything that they do, say or hide will be expose somehow by these electronic tools. Once can say that new government ideals can replace dictatorship, however when everything is exposed there is no place for acceptance. Of course a bigger portion of this region are not used to the democratic government or the complexity behind it. Nations of this region have no experience in democratic government and adaptation will be a a task of cultural challenges. A political system which is technically alien but at the same time aware of them due to the social media, it will be difficult to implement but not so difficult to adapt due to human’s capacity of adaptation in life in general. Also issues with isis and more regional problems are becoming well-known by the rest of the world. Specially the younger crowd can do incredibles changes with the internet by being aware of bias media and see the true about other nation and issues around the globe.
