There have been many good children’s movies throughout the years, and it’s quite difficult to only narrow it down to ten out of all of these amazing movies in the cinematic world. Since we have so many options to choose from I narrowed the Top 10 Best Children Movies from 2000 – 2010.

 

1. Finding Nemo 

Finding Nemo was released in 2003 an American computer-animated children’s movie that was based on a clown fish who tried to swim too close to the surface to prove to his father he is strong and independent when suddenly he was taken away by a human diver. The father named Marlin panicked and chased after the boat as fast as he could but the boat was just too fast for such a small fish. Marlin then continues his journey on his own when he meets Dory, a fish who suffers from short-term memory loss but manages to help Marlin find his son. This movie broke records and it actually grossed a record-breaking of $940 million dollars for its time. 

 

 

 

2. Ratatouille 

The famous Ratatoillie movie was released in 2007 an American computer-animated comedy and drama film. This Disney children’s movie won an Annie Award and the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and it’s also one of Gordon Ramsy’s favorite movies. This movie takes place in Paris about a young rat that aspires to be a chef one day at Auguste Gusteau’s restaurant. He then builds a friendship with the garbage boy inside named Alfredo the restaurant. Weird right a boy and rat being friends? Ratatouille sees this friendship as his only way into the restaurant and uses it to his advantage. This movie generated over $600 million dollars making it the seventh-highest-grossing Pixar film.

 

 

 

3. WALL – E

WALL- E was released in 2008 and it’s an American computer-animated science fiction film that is mainly known for having a very strong and meaningful message about the world. WALL- E stands for (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) and he is the last robot left on Earth programmed to clean the planet. After many years of cleaning, he develops a personality of his own, and his curiosity and personality are what save the earth from dying. WALL- E grossed $521.3 million worldwide and became the ninth-highest-grossing film of 2008.

 

 

 

 

 

4. The Incredibles

The Incredibles is a very famous and well-known movie and many children’s favorite movies of all time. The Incredibles is an American computer-animated film to win not one but two Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Sound Editing. This movie is about a family who all have their own unique superpower but they are banned from using this power from the government. They still feel the need to use their superpowers to stop crime from society. This movie broke records and it was such a good movie that 14 years after they made a sequel that generated 1.2 billion dollars, double the amount.

 

5. Princess Diaries

Every young girl’s dream is to be a princess and live in a huge castle have amazing dresses and wear a shiny crown. This movie was literally every young girl’s dream. Anne Hatheway who played Mia Thermopolis a shy American teenage girl who learns that her grandmother is the Queen of the European Kingdom and now has to learn how to become the princess of the European Kingdom. This movie was released in 2001 and won the Young Artist Award for Best Family Feature Film – Comedy.

 

 

 

 

6. Monsters Inc.

Monsters Inc is an American computer-animated film that was released in 2001, 22 years ago, and it’s ranked one of the best Disney movies. Monsters Inc is about two monsters Sulley and his best friend Mike Wazaowski who work at an energy-producing factory and generate energy from children’s screams. Both characters have a very different appearance from one another and this is what makes this friendship stand out from the rest. This movie made more than half a million dollars but it’s now worth $57 billion dollars in today’s market.

 

 

7. Toy Story 3

Toy Story 3 is an American computer-animated film that was released in 2010. Toy Story 3 is a sequel and many have ranked it as one of the best movies out of all 4. It also grossed more than the first and second films combined, making it the first animated film to have crossed the $1 billion mark. This movie is every children’s dream where your toys come to life but in this case, they only come to life when their humans are not around. This movie focuses on two characters Buzz Lightyear and Woody. Woody has been Andy’s forever favorite toy until Buzz Lightyear came and replaced Woody’s spot. They have to learn how to get along after Andy chose Buzz as his favorite new toy. 

 

 

 

8. Madagascar

Madagascar is a computer-animated film that was released in 2005. This movie is based on a group of animals who have lived their lives in a New York zoo when they are suddenly taken to the wild. These animals have to learn how to live in the jungles of Madagascar and face many survival challenges since they have no experience with what’s life in the wild like. Madagascar won the Blimp Award for Favorite Animated Movie and this movie generated over $500 million dollars during this time. 

 

9. Kung Fu Panda 

Kung Fu Panda is a movie that has all the children doing karate. This movie was released in 2008 and it’s a computer-animated martial arts film. This movie is based on a group of animals in ancient China who are fighting to be the dragon warrior. Po a panda with a very carefree demeanor wants to be the dragon warrior and has to undergo intense training from his master Shifu. This movie grossed over $600 million dollars making it the third-highest-grossing film of 2008.

 

 

 

 

 

10. Enchanted

Enchanted was released in 2007 and is an American live-action comedy film. This movie was made to celebrate their first classic films like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Cinderella. This film follows the classical fantasy love story where a princess is waiting for her prince to come. This movie was based in New York City and uses humor to tell the story. This movie was nominated twice at the Golden Globe Awards and generated over 300 million dollars.
