As another successful semester of hard work comes to a close, students are finally ready to shut their laptops and unwind.
For those of you who are looking to stay local this semester, Mercy University’s Music Production and Recording Arts Program is hosting just the event you are looking for, and hope to see you there!
The “Just the Vibe VOL.2.” outdoor music festival will take place on Saturday, May 10th from 12 PM to 7:30 PM in the Tim & Lee Hall Pavilion, and best of all, it’s completely free to attend.
This event is tailored to the musical talent at Mercy University and around the Tri-State Area.
Coming off of last years, “Just the Vibe” success debut featuring artists like ROG, ISAA, Stephen Burney, City Savannah, Kendall Joshua, and others, this year’s festival will be just as fun, if not even more.
Students can expect to see an expanded performer line up including LuvFayzo, Adam Wilde, Ca$tarGenesis, Rebar, Mica, Cloetree, Shano, Dual Side, Super Jack, and many more talented performers.
It is guaranteed to be a day filled with live music across diverse genres, delicious food offerings, and unbeatable vibes for all who attend. The festival continues its mission of creating a vibrant space for music lovers to connect and celebrate creativity.
Leading the event is Zaire Smith, who summed up the festival in one sentence: “We out here just vibing again.”
One of the many talented performers to look out for at this event is senior Jio Rodriguez, known as LordJio on the stage who took the time to speak on how this opportunity has impacted him and other artists.
“I am happy and proud to be performing at this event. I’m grateful for the doors this school has opened for our musical students,” Rodriguez said.
He, as well as many others, are grateful for the various opportunities they get to showcase their music and thank everyone who takes the time to show up to these events and supports them.
“We are the future of music! Diamonds in the rough!” Rodriguez said.
Kick-off to summer break at at Mercy University this year is going to blow past celebrations out of the park.
Student and Residential Assistant, Ayvia Vazquez had a lot to say about the upcoming event.
“I’m so excited to see the talent Mercy has! There is something so special about being able to hear original pieces and the energy it brings to the stage is phenomenal.”
After attending many of the open mics also hosted by the Music Production and Recording Arts Program, sets her up for excitement.
“I think a big showcase of Mercy’s talent is such a great idea. Going to the open mics and hearing some of the artists that are going to perform lets me know that this concert is going to be amazing.” Vazquez said.
