The Possession

I recently saw “The Possession” directed by Todd Lincoln, it had beautiful graphics but it lacked a story, to me it seemed to be like any other movie about exorcisms. You kind of new what was going to happen right from the beginning. It some scenes the horror was really there it was there, but the real action started towards the middle of the movie. The little girl becomes possessed because of a wooden box. It was not like the other movies where it is always a Catholic based demon; this movie was for a demon in the Jewish religion.
At no point during the movie did they did not tell us how the box was created or what exactly is in it. They showed us the box but only from behind it never on top or seen from the front. There were really no pints of tension in the movie. Now if this movie was made into a 3-D movie you can see more excitement about it some of the scenes can be like that, like the scene where all the mots come out of her room, or when you see the hand pop out of her mouth when it is scene by the light. Some scenes were just plain boring; you spent five- ten minutes with the dad just driving in the box. You should be able to see him pull out of driveway start driving and when he comes out of view of the camera, then cut to when he starts driving into the frame of the next scene where he arrives at his destination.
Jeffery Dean Morgan, actor, did not play his part correctly; he lacked the passion of making this movie. Liev Schreiber, actor, should have taken the place of Morgan. Schreiber is able to keep a straight face like “The Omen” (2006) where he played the father. He was very focused on being the father Natasha Calis, actress, played the young girl Em she was very enthusiastic about the role. Calis was the main character she was able to perform some of her stunts by herself. She was a perfect fit for this role; no other actor can take her place. Her acting was about an 8/10. Matisyahu, actor, played the rabbi in the movie, he was able to fulfill this role, as being a member of the Jewish community, he created a very realistic character. I would give this movie a 3 out of 10. This is because they at least tried to be original. Just by changing the religious aspect does absolutely nothing.
