Mercy College and Super Bowl Boulevard- The NFL’s Super Bowl entertainment center spans across 13 city blocks has opened, and is only a few feet away from Mercy College’s Manhattan Campus! There will be toboggan rides, the Vince Lombardi trophy, an NFL shop and musical guests. Set up on Broadway between 34th and 47th streets, the festivities will begin Jan. 29 through Feb 1, from noon to 10 pm.
The Marching Cobras Play at Super Bowl XLVIII- The Marching Cobras are the 70 member band that plays at many Mercy College’s functions will lead the Vince Lombardi Trophy up Broadway’s Super Bowl Boulevard on Jan. 29 and welcome ticketholders to the pregame show at MetLife Stadium on Feb. 2. The non-profit group helps at-risk youth all over New York City and Westchester County. Many of the students attend St. Christopher’s School in Dobbs Ferry.
Mercy College Students Work Saving Sea Turtles- Over winter break, 14 Mercy College students volunteered their services at the Sea Turtle Research and Rehabilitation Center in Costa Rica. Led by two of the Veterinary Technology Program’s faculty members, Dr. Sabrina Timperman, Dr. Lisa Schenkel and the students assisted the Latin American Sea Turtles organization by helping to preserve the species.
Artist Conversation- Spend the afternoon with award winning Music Editor Jennifer Dunnington, whose work includes major Hollywood films such as The Wolf of Wall Street, The Hobbit, Hugo and The Fellowship of the Ring.
